What a buggy ride in Agafay is like
A buggy is a small off-road car: two seats side by side under a roll cage, with a steering wheel instead of handlebars. In Agafay you drive it along off-road tracks through stone desert, past rolling hills and dry riverbeds, with the Atlas Mountains on the horizon. The desert is about 40 minutes from Marrakech, and trips leave at 3:00 PM, so you ride in the late afternoon.
The buggy is the centrepiece of the Buggy + Camel + Dinner & Fire Show package: a 1-hour buggy ride, a 15-minute camel ride, then dinner with a fire show, about 5 hours in total. Buggies are shared, two people per buggy. Every ride starts with a safety briefing, helmets are provided, and a guide leads the group. Anyone aged 16 or over can drive without a licence; children aged 3 to 15 ride as passengers.

On a quad you sit one behind the other and steer with handlebars, more like a motorbike. What should I wear for a buggy ride?
Closed shoes, sunglasses and a scarf or buff for the dust (scarves aren't included, so bring your own). Bring a warm layer from November to March, because the desert cools down quickly after sunset.
