Agafay Quad Biking from Marrakech

What happens on an Agafay quad biking trip

1. 3:00 PM, free pickup at your hotel or riad in Marrakech or the surrounding area, shared with other guests, or in a private car with paid VIP transport. The drive to the Agafay Desert takes about 40 to 60 minutes.
2. Safety briefing. You get a helmet, the controls are explained, and you have a short practice before setting off.
3. The quad ride. 40 minutes or 1 hour 30 minutes, depending on the option you choose, on desert tracks over rolling stone hills and dry riverbeds. A guide rides at the front and sets the pace.
4. Camel ride. 15 minutes with the 40-minute option, 1 hour with the 1h30 option.
5. Dinner with a live show, around 7:00 PM. From about October to February the sun sets while you are in the desert.
6. Back in Marrakech around 8:00 PM.

Agafay quad biking prices

Prices are per person and include the quad ride, the camel ride, dinner with a show and free pickup at your hotel or riad.

Quads are shared, two people per quad. Children aged 3 to 15 pay the same price as adults and ride as passengers; children under 3 are free. Prefer a buggy? On the quad trip you can swap the quad for a buggy for 1400 MAD per buggy (two seats), added to the trip price. You pay by cash on the day.

40 minutes or 1 hour 30: which quad ride to choose?

The 40-minute ride suits first-timers, families with children riding as passengers, and anyone who mainly wants a taste of the desert before the camel ride and dinner. The 1 hour 30 ride gives you much more time at the handlebars and comes with a longer, 1-hour camel ride, so the whole trip takes about an hour more. Both end with the same dinner and live show.

Safety, age and licence rules

• No driving licence needed. Anyone aged 16 or over can drive.
• Children aged 3 to 15 ride as passengers and can't drive.
• Helmets are provided, and every ride starts with a safety briefing and a short practice.
• A guide leads the group at the front and sets a pace that suits the riders, on off-road tracks away from traffic.

What to wear and bring

Wear closed shoes, long trousers and sunglasses, and bring a scarf or buff for the dust: scarves and goggles aren't provided. Large water bottles aren't included either, so bring water. From about October to April, bring a warm layer, because the desert cools down quickly in the evening.

Agafay or the Palmeraie for quad biking?

The Palmeraie is closer to Marrakech and flatter, with tracks among palm trees and villages. Agafay is about 40 to 60 minutes away but gives you open stone desert, hills and views of the Atlas Mountains, and your trip ends with dinner and a show in the desert. Pickup, booking and cancellation

Pickup is free at 3:00 PM from your hotel or riad, in Marrakech and the surrounding area: the Palmeraie, the Ourika and Fès roads, and Agafay desert hotels. The free pickup is shared with other guests; for a private car just for your group, choose paid VIP private transport when you book. • Book online on the booking page, even for the same day until 12:00 noon. No card is needed.
• Pay by cash on the day. There is no online payment.
• Free cancellation up to 24 hours before your trip. Inside 24 hours, the transport cost may be deducted.
